Holley Pro-Jection by
Beth Prevedel Basically everything you need comes with the system, but you will have to also purchase several feet of fuel line, hose clamps, and a fuel pressure gauge. The hardest things when installing this system are: #1. Where to mount the fuel pump (we put it on the frame close to the fuel tank) #2. What to do with the mile of wiring harness that goes to the control computer (looped and looped then tie wrapped and stuffed under the dash) #3. Where to mount the computer so it is accessible but out of the way and out of the weather (under the dash speaker grill on the right, mounted so the adjustment knobs face down). The initial start up was a little shaky but that’s when you make your first adjustments. The last adjustment is done the following morning to set the choke settings. Periodically you will need to re-adjust a setting here and there, but just to fine tune to conditions. The real test was the trip to Tellico. Our trip in June was trying to say the least, the Big E was NOT a happy person with the Edelbrock sitting on top of my 360, and I have the hood dent to prove it! However, this last trip was so nice, Blue just purred along, no matter the angle or how rough the terrain. Ernie said "I never even thought about a hammer the whole trip"! Whew! Throttle response was instant and smooth, start up no problem cold or hot, and fuel mileage is maybe a mile or two better than with the old 258 6cyl. We purchased the system from JEGS mail order, and it was just under $700.00 to the door. So far we give this Pro-Jection an "A", and will let you know if any problems arise.
