The Bowling Social
The OJC executive committee
(interpretation – John) decided that since we were kicked out of Arby’s
for our last social, that maybe we should meet somewhere that might be more
accustomed to our diverse group of members. So off to the Bowling Alley we
go!!!! Rough estimate of attendance was 30 or so.
It won’t be a lengthy article, but I will try to give an accurate
account of what took place. (Me being the professional bowler that I am, I was
busy concentrating on my game, more so than the things happening around me.
– Anybody looking to purchase some swamp land???)
Hopefully some of the pictures that Dawn
took have made it in the newsletter – Cause let me tell ya – A picture
really is worth a thousand words. I think that Russ might want to consider
adding a section to the website “Things overheard at OJC socials…”
Some of the things overheard……
Wow, Ernie has tie-up shoes on!!!
John, why is your cell phone half way
down the lane in the gutter?
Jeff, you ok? – That really isn’t a
good place to take a nap…..
I want to use the lane the kids are
using; they get a strike every time.
Uh Oh – we are in trouble... Ron and
Linda have matching shirts, shoes and bowling bags on wheels. They must be
pros or something.
Ernie, you can’t use a grinder to
polish your bowling ball.
Please, Ray T – take my turn – my
arm is killing me.
The most common comments were about how
many were actually going to be able to get up and walk the next morning. Along
with the various statements about aching muscles and sore this and sore that.
Anyway in the words of Buddy Pitman,
“A good time was had by all.” Or at least they didn’t tell anyone, if
they didn’t. Stay tuned because who knows where the executive committee
might decide that we need to invade (err… visit) next for the social.
